TPF Noob!
Hi,
did anyone read this month's Practical Photography article on shooting water drops? I did... Thought I'd give it a go
Setup:
D70
Unitor Bellows @ 12.5cm extension
3 extension tubes mounted onto the camera end of the bellow (the only way I could mount my D70!) - D70 on the end of that...
Old Zenit 135mm f/3.5 MF lens reverse mounted onto the front of the bellows (I don't have the F-mount --> M42 adaptor yet, so again this is the only way I can mount it at present)
Camera set to manual, f/16, 4sec exposure on self-timer 5secs
SB-600 handheld set to 1/4 - 1/2 power
1ml syringe held above a glass full of water
2 desk lamps pointing at the red surface under the glass
Set the camera timer, release the shutter, squirt the syringe and hope I time the flash right!
Here's the results of about 3 hours of faffing about...
I'd love to hear your thoughts
Leeko
