Well here it is, my very first HDR. Please disregard the watermark as I have not made a decision wether or not I'll purchase the program.

I've been wanting to try this for while now and found it quite fun.

My critique on this one, probably a little over done otherwise I like it. I used 7 images and went from +3 to -3.

Let me know what you all think.

the processing looks pretty good to me and the composition is nice but there's something about the snow and water that seems a little off. Damn good first HDR!

I agree, the snow and water is blue, it seems on my monitor. I would try to reduce the blue tint there, and make it more white.

What I did here was just desaturate the blues by apprx two thirds. I kept a little, as that's more natural than completely white/grey ice. I also completely desaturated the cyan channel. But I agree, very good for a first!

Nice edit.

And good job for your first time Demers!

Water and snow are very blue.. was that intentional? Background is very gold / yellow. Rocks look good.. good detail, and good shadow detail.

Thanks Trevor, Compaq, rotanimod and Charlie,

The water and the background yellow were the places I was having a bit of issues with and this is where I was struggling on how to adjust those without actually losing the HDR portion. I used the photomatix program and wasn't sure if the editing of color or anything like that should be done prior or after the processing has been done. I will need to do a little more digging on how make the adjustments.

Compaq, I like your edit. I'll have to play a little more and see what I can come up with.

lol, i knew it was something, just couldn't articulate, yes, blue! I also like Compaq's suggestions ;)

I dont know why but if there is anything yellow in an HDR it really blows out. If the yellow sunlight was toned back then the overall image would look a lot more balanced. The adjusted blue by Compaq was called for. Just an opinion.

Thanks Bynx, I appreciate your opinion and agree with it. Still have some quite a bit of learning to do with this technique.

Blue or less blue, both work for me, but those bright yellow trees, that hurts.

Hope I can crank out one this good for my first time though.
