Waterfalls

Hey everyone, just a few photos from a waterfall that's not to far from where I live. Just wanted to hear any thoughts, comments or improvements upon the few images added.

Well No1 is the strongest I think and quite nice if a little bland. 2 and 3 both suffer from the same issue, it's all mid ground with no foreground or distance which means we kinda loose perspective a bit and have no idea of scale. It also makes them a bit flat and the even lighting aggrivates this. I'm guessing it was a pretty overcast day which can be good for these kind of shots but you need some other stuff as well to make it a bit more interesting to view. On the plus side your exposures look ok (perhaps a a few blown out highlights in the water in 2) and you shutter speed looks slow enough to get a bit of blurring of the water.

Waterfalls are usually more dramatic when photographed from below. These images are all from a high vantage point.

How am I meant to get below when it's all rushing white water? Bit difficult don't you think. And I completely disagree a high vantage point is better as you get a better background rather than just a foreground.

I wonder what #1 might look like with a fast shutter, to freeze the water?

I tweaked the white balance a little on #3 to see if it would help, and I'm not sure it did. It helped the water, but made the rocks too dark.

Some waterfalls you can some you cannot. But you always have the option of shooting from ground level instead m

From these images it appears that these water falls are not all that high, in fact the first one is not even a waterfall it is a rock in the middle of water.

Lowering the angle of the camera would definitely change the look of the image.

You bring up background and foreground. In your images the background is just more moving water. With the camera lower you could actually decrease the about of background water is seen and you can use a interesting foreground element to help pull in the attention of the viewer.

I agree that a lower perspective would help; these only look to be few feet, at most. I do like the last one, though.
