This black bear comes around every now and then and tries to find what he can eat. Today he dined on sunflower seeds from the bird feeder.

Wow! Neat. But I’m glad he is in your backyard. Lol.

Beautiful bear, and great shots. Glad he's just visiting, because he looks like he could rack up quite the food bill.

I love seeing bears. I don't feed the birds here during the months black bears are not hibernating. Seed is a favorite of theirs and they will be very destructive getting what they want. Picking up trash they like to drag away is nuisance enough, lol. Your first is my favorite of the group.

Great shots.
Question: where were you positioned when you took these photos?

In the first image the bear appears to be standing quite effortlessly, almost as if that were his 'natural' state.

Bears and dogs...
GREAT MOOCHERS!

Great pictures.

Thank you to everyone's comments!

This bird feeder is about 70 feet out front from our house. I was under our porch in the first photo. Also in the first photo, notice the tree to the left. This tree is a couple feet in diameter and only about thirty feet from the bird feeder. For the last two photos I sneaked out to this tree, using it for cover. Bears don't see all that well. They rely more on their sense of smell and obviously he couldn't smell me. In the past when I have approached him and he detected me, he would just quickly turn and run away.

Interesting. Is this particular bear a frequent visitor?

Not too frequent. Same bear but he might show up one more time this year or we may not see him again for a couple of years.

Nice shots, I'd get a longer lens and shoot from in the house. One of these time he might not run away.
