The poppy is a symbol of The Great War.

Interesting that we see a "ghost face" in the tree ornament.

AuraTodd, the poppy is out of focus and partly blocked by the Christmas tree decoration reflecting yourself. What we see in focus is you and your camera. The poppy here effectively serves as a background. Not the best idea in my opinion, bearing in mind your stated intention, unless you are trying to show that the memory is fading away, but still there somehow... I like though how the poppy is reflected in the ball. The problem is because of that there are two poppies in the frame. Don't you think the composition is getting a bit confusing?
