Wedding couple

Taken with my new Nikon 135mm f/2 DC at f/2.8 with DC ring set to 2.8 rear.

I like it alot. Sharp even focus on the couple, while the background has just the right amount of out-of-focus blur

From the few I took with this lens I have noticed it makes the subject stand out nicely from the background. Lens seems sharp as a razor but 135mm I feel is a little too long for weddings (apart from maybe a few head/shoulder shots).
Got an event this weekend where I am going to give it another outing for the majority of the shots.
Have to say the lens itself is a thing of beauty - it could be the subject of a photo shoot in its own right!

What happen to the out of focus background when lets say you shoot at F2 and you set the OOF control at a higher setting like F2.8 F4 F5.6 ??? what the effect on the background?

It is too over the top and the main subject becomes too soft to be usable. There will be circumstances where it will work but the ones I tried at last weekends wedding I would not put in the set for the client due to the softness. Shooting at 2.8 with DC at 2.8 seems to be a dream with slighlty softer backgrounds than you normally get at 2.8. Subtle but seeable.

So basicly, if you shoot at F2 and set the ring at F5.6, parts of the subject that is suposed to be sharp will start getting out of focus gradually from the background narrowing your DOF even more?.

I think that could create a really nice effect for really tight headshots.

That is correct so accurate composition would be crucial which is why many reviews state you need a lot of practice with this lens if trying to nail this aspect. If used as I mentioned above it simply works like a dream. I love my primes and this is a welcome addition.

It's a very nice lens, and you used the defocus control quite well.
