Big tree, tiny tree. Also my first attempt at a sky replacement. Thoughts?

The image is quite nice and possesses many elements of a good landscape photo. I am not a fan of sky replacement as when I see a shot I like to think I could go to a place and actually experience it as depicted.

Yeah I get that. I came across the sky replacement option when in PS to delete some wires that were in my shot and thought I'd give it a try. As for wanting to think that you can go there and experience it as depicted, this was a sunset photo and I used a sunset sky. If there had been clouds around it certainly could have looked just like that. But the clouds were not there when I was so it was a bit boring.

It really depends on if the photo is for memories or for my own creative fun whether I will edit it to look remarkably different than reality. I think as long as creative changes aren't presented as real, then nothing wrong with that. Usually if it's a composite or blend or pano or stack I will note that somewhere. If you're curious, here is the original edited but without the new sky and with the wire...

Still a nice shot and I don't count taking out wires. The original would still motivate me to go to Marblehead. We all take creative liberties with images. I warned people when I was shooting Neowise that unless your eyes can do a 20 second exposure, you wont see it like this.

You can't get much tinier than this........a green Jumping Spider. It was only about 4mm long including its legs. Nikon D850, 55mm f/2.8 AIS Micro Nikkor reversed on a PB-6 bellows. 60 images focus stacked in Zerene Stacker.

I said the same thing to a local mom who wanted to take her daughter to see it - not much to see with the human eye.

Your replacement works well. The original being also a sunset shot from almost the same direction makes the lighting match on the scene overall.

You can clean it yourself. Sensors are covered with an IR filter so they are actually quite durable. There are a number of posts on this forum that will help.

I'm so nervous to do it, but you are right, I need to just give it a go. Thank you...off to watch some videos.

I bought a kit and did it myself. I used a ring light with magnifying glass to see what I was doing (my eyesight is awful for small things). It was scary but easy. Speaking of I am long overdue to clean it again as I change lenses outdoors quite a bit and saw a lot of dust spots from my last shots of the sky!

I think that the lighthouse looks super tiny in this shot. It is one of the tiniest that I’ve ever seen in person so it’s definitely smaller than most.
