Hi, all. First of all, I just wanted to point out that I'm fairly new to DSLR photography and my knowledge is very slim when it comes to DSLR cameras. (I picked up books, learning by the minute!) I do have one question that I can't seem to find the answer to and was wondering why this may be happening. I was playing with my camera today and when I would put it into aperture priority mode, it appears that the shutter speed is lagging and the final result of the photo is very faint and blurred out because of the lag (maybe the mirror?). I was wondering what may be the cause of this and how I can tweak it to make it not do that. It doesnt do this all the time, just a lot of the time. Is it my exposure?

In aperture priority.. the camera will set the shutter speed automatically based on what aperture you have selected, and what ISO you pick. if Shutter is really slow.. then you have to either open your aperture, go to a faster ISO, or both! hope that helps...

what camera / lens are you using? what were your settings? Ambient light or flash? if ambient, was it bright or dim?

Thank you so much, cgipson. I was hoping my camera was not going bad on me, lol. You get a like for not cracking noob jokes :)

No problem! So how is good ol' St. Pete? I used to live there.. miss it! (I don't really miss driving across the causeway to work though! lol!)
