They're all underexposed. how close was your flash?
I like #2 besides the tilt and the tree in the back. I like the way the natural light hits her

Hmmm... I had my meter zeroed out, do you think I didn't have my flash at enough output? Had my flash mounted on my camera. This is a 35/1.8, so I was about 6 feet away from subject.

If you have the originals... repost WITH the metadata intact! That would be the best way for us to tell what happened!

The meter "zeroed out" just means that the camera thinks the whole scene is exposed evenly or middle grey. The problem is that if the environment is bright it will try to bring everything down including your subject. Try shooting manual and taking test shots to expose for your subject by checking the lcd. When in doubt i almost always overexpose a bit... it's easier to bring it down in post than to add light (noise). Also shooting raw saves you a ton because you have more leverage in post.

she is really fair..how do I keep her from picking up the color of the grass? I noticed the green tint as well.

I wanted them to seem a little "warm". They don't seem to warm on my monitor, but it may just be me. Do you guys think the general composition is ok, if I work on the lighting issues?
