Whale Watch!! - Comments and Critiques Please!

Here are a few from today's whale watch.

The whales didn't surface a lot, so it was tough to get many photo's of the whales themselves. So I resorted to the artistic shots--which I think came out pretty well. I was really diggin' the black and white processing... do you agree?

Love the white sail against the dark sky in #1. #3 is great as well.

#2 and 4 are boring; sadly.

3 is my favorite.. I wish 1 were wider... the crop is bothering me... in 2 the eagle looks out of focus

Sadly, this was as wide as my 17-55 2.8 could get on my cropped body. I as well wish it were wider. Thanks for the input!

Too much of the photo is out of focus. My eye searches the rope.
