Lightroom's main reason for being is its image database management capabilities, also known as Digital Asset Management (DAM).
The value of your images decreases if you can't find them when you need them.

I totally forgot about the ingestion part of it! As I am downloading the images they get keyworded. VERY GOOD POINT, KEITH!!!

Ingestion is just like the foundation of a building. Poor ingestion will result in poor image management, just like taking shortcuts when making a foundation........ eventually the building will fall down.
