What's new

What are you watching on TV right now?

"Mosul"(2019). American-made, Arabic-language action/drama about an Iraqi SWAT team mopping-up ISIS in Mosul. If you enjoyed "Saving Private Ryan," this small budget gem hits all the same buttons--great cast, story and action. Suhail Dabbach is superb as the group's leader.
Worth searching for on Netflix or available streaming platforms.

Any good? I loved the original series but have not started this new one yet.
The one I'm watching is the original. Apparently the new one is just one season and a spin off from that new one has his son as the main character.

Watching The Expanse on Prime. Almost done. It’s going to be a rainy weekend. I’m going to do a free trial of Apple TV and binge a few shows I’ve been wanting to watch.

A solid series that deserved a bigger audience.

For you: "A Little Chaos." On Netflix. 2015 film that slipped under the radar. Kate Winslet as a Louis XIV Versailles garden designer. Very pretty.

Been watching this too though i keep getting side tracked that i miss most of it, really just listening to it and glancing at it while reading ect and pretending to be a bunny with the 2 boys🤪.

Im enjoying it what I've managed to see, love science fiction and fantasy entertainment...

I been watching Orphan Black: Echoes mainly for Kristen Ritter, I think she's great and loved her in Jessica Jones.

I’m enjoying The Expanse but the “main” character is my least favorite! Love the strong female characters and the quirkier men but James Holden bores me.

This weekend, just finished the Wimbledon tennis women's singles, tomorrow I'll be watching the men's plus the Soccer/Football Euro final.

Around the 1960's there was a TV show called "Route 66". A few years ago I ran across re-runs of the show online. There was an episode that was set in Toronto. Now, you have to think about this. If you check a US map, Route 66 (the road) does not come into Canada. In fact, it never even comes close to Canada. So how did the show end up with a Toronto Episode? Right now, I'm not sure. I'll watch the episode again eventually, but for now, I'll just post a link so people can see it for themselves.

"Route 66 - S04E10 A Long Way From St Louie",

Fantastic long-gone Inn on the Park! The Nelson Riddle theme music is killer:

Finished "Dexter" now on to "Six Feet Under". Still need to unpack my DVD/B-Ray's and VHS.

Looking again at "Vikings." A 2013- series that first seemed a low-budget "Game of Thrones" clone but soon proved otherwise. Great story, action and acting. An Irish-Canadian production. Well worth a look. Likely still running on various streaming services.

Is it as good as The Last Kingdom?
