What do you get by having representative?

What you get:

Screwed out of several thousands of dollars I would assume. Your photos should do the selling for you.

You gain industry contacts and exposure. I am referring to commercial and freelance editorial photography, not retail photography.

Good represenatives are very selective who they take on board. You'll need a pretty strong portfolio and an already establishes record of clients thatb have used your work to even be considered.
