What's new

What editing was used at this picture?

HSS would be my guess.

This shot can be taken with 2 580EX set to HSS mode and using lower aperture - F22. But it can also be taken with studio light with the new PW which emulates "HSS" for studio strobes. Which can achieve similar look. Not sure which route they went with but I'm guessing it was with speedlites (canon or nikon)

2 580 on hss would never give you that much light at f22, HSS will not workoff camera unless you use the new pocket wizzards

HSS works off-camera with just the built-in Master/Slave wireless. Although it might have a hard time under direct sunlight.

Is true, this is more lighting and setting your strobes higher than the ambient in the sky than reotuching. Though you could always burn/mask it in Photoshop.

Photoshop is most likely used here for the skin. Hope it helps

^^^ What he said. I do know what I'm talking about sometimes :er:

It could be any number of strobes, right? The amount of light you can produce with HSS is only limited by how many units you can afford?

Yes sir!

Take a look at this video. Which I think is really dumb to be honest but yeah

There is no reason to use HSS. Why would you use HSS?

Sorry but not from what i have seen of your flash work, you may be able to use HSS but it won't give you enough light with 2 flashes

I think you'd either have to use HSS, or a ND which is going to require even more light(s). You are nuking the sun here. It requires a LOT of 'artificial' light and very very little ambient. Shooting f/16 at 1/250 & ISO 100 directly into the sun is still going to give you a bright sky. Or maybe I'm missing something. :D
