What happens when a wife asks a husband to take a picture of her new hair?

My wife's model experience is that of a 3 minute video on the way to the location lol.

The colors, exposure, and lighting looks perfect on 1,3,4.

Love the pose on 4.

Thank you for the replies! She loved the pictures as well. This was the first time taking actual pictures of her, except for her maternity ones that didn't really count =)

Good stuff. I really like the 3rd and 4th photos the best.

Although I do wish in the 4th photo that her left hand was either closer to her other hand or her left leg instead of in the middle of her crotch.

But it's still a nice image, and most people probably wouldn't even notice.

I think these photos are pretty great, and it's a good variety too. Love the colors and contrast.

I will agree the 4th one is probably the weakest of the set. The hand, the lighting, and the feather kind of annoy me.

#3 is really great, #1 is pretty cheeky, nice photos, esp. successful if your wife liked them too

Yeah... I was dealing with annoying sun spots coming through the trees so I just had her keep moving around. Her leaning back was the one way to keep the spots to a minimum lol. I love getting to take portraits like this and edit them how I please. I usually just do family photos and such, so I don't get to go too crazy unless a client asks for it.

Here is another one I just finished editing.

(I know her foot area is a little dark, but she her foot was closest to the camera so it looks all enlarged and deformed lol)

Your wife is very pretty. Unless the others are seeing something that I am not, the only one that looks properly lit is #1 and 3. (Kind of) Technically they are still underexposed. #2 and 4 are not flattering as far as lighting goes.
#2 My eyes go straight to the clipped blacks in the crotch region.
#4 the lighting is very uneven on her face, legs, and chest.

You need fill light to even all this out, especially when shooting in this type of lighting. (which is my favorite lighting to shoot in) Reflector? Flash?
I prefer a reflector, but whatever floats your boat. I hate flash unless I bounce it off of something.

#1 was the only one I used lighting on...it was the only place that had a flat enough surface for a lighting stand/softbox. This wasn't intended to be a full on paid shoot with an assistant and perfect lighting and such.

Assistant? Paid? Perfect lighting? Pretty much 2 of the 3 will never exist. I was just stating the basics. Adapting with what you have to work with is an essential key to a great shot compared to a snap shot.
