what is the proper etiquette

A question for those of you with facebook photography pages. What is the proper etiquette? Do you post on other photographer's pages as so and so photography or as your personal self? I'm not talking about blatantly posting a link back to your page, just posting comments to their photos [like nice image etc.] using your photography name. Is it rude or acceptable?

Well it is the Internet so you have to be prepared for any and all forms and sources of comments to come in.

I personally feel limited in my ability when I am using my photography Page to reach people directly. Other brands are a bit easier.

I would say the proper etiquette is what you feel comfortable with. It's your image so do with it what you want.

Specifically, I had someone ask me about this because they thought it was an easy way to get exposure...they comment on someones photo on that persons page and then others on that page see "your" name as someone who commented and then they check out your photography page....just wondering if its polite or invasive and rude to the person's page [artist or business] that you are commenting on.

Just realized Things got overlapped a bit here - I'm not talking about what might be said by someone, I'm talking about using your biz name to comment on other photo biz or artists pages as a way to get exposure for your page. Is it rude or acceptable?

Internet......etiquette. While they do rhyme, using them in the same sentence is an oxymoron. There ain't no such thing that is why we have the rabbits, and the bunnies, and other various forms of moderators.

I can rarely be bothered to post on my own facebook page; the chances of me posting on someone else's page are slim to zero, BUT... if I did, I would NOT do it in anyway that would appear that I was trying to gain exposure. That reeks of 'tacky' IMO.
