what lens should I get?

I have been watching this camera for a while its a used nikon d5000. The website keh doesn't sale it with the lens only the body. Is there any lens that is 150 or under? D5000

$150 isn't much to buy a lens with. There are probably several options. The lens that comes with the kit version of that camera, the 18-55mm is in that range.

Nikon Zoom-Nikkor Zoom lens - 18 mm - 55 mm - F/3.5-5.6 - Nikon F

The 50mm 1.8 is also in that range. I'm not a nikon guy, but I know this lens won't auto-focus on some entry level cameras, not sure if the D5000 is one of them.

Nikon Nikkor - Lens - 50 mm - f/1.8 D-AF - Nikon F

Other than that, your choices are fairly limited. Google is your friend in this case. I've gotten you started, but I'm not going to do all your research for you. Again, it's hard to find anything for under $150.

EDIT: After a quick google search, the 50mm 1.8 will not AF on the D5000. If you want AF, stay away from that lens.

The 18-35 is a nice option.

i assume with the price you have given you are only able to buy the one lens for now, if so i suggest the nikon 18-55mm as it will give you more versatility than the 18-35mm. the 18-55mm is a great lens to start with if you plan on having only one lens for a while
