What lens you recommend

Well first I have to say hello to everyone. Im new and need some info. First off I just got a brand new 1D MarkIII and was wondering wich lens would you consider the best.

Had a 5D in the past, I mostly shoot car moving and stuff

it really depends on you and your shooting habits... are the cars far away, is it usually low light. want a zoom or primes? so many things you have to decide...

I'd recommend a 300mm L prime, f/4 or f/2.8, depending on what you can afford.

And keep the 5D as a backup body, with some wide angle L zoom attached.

This combo would be best for me for that sort of shooting. no Idea if it is the best for you ...

Alot of people keep recommending the Canon 70-200mm f2.8... but im in the same boat, so havent got a clue what lens i want, but i hear that one is superb.. oh and whats the budget
