Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I have had my XSi with 18-55 and 55-250 EFS kit lenses for 2 years now. And re-reading reviews of the camera and flipping through these sample pictures.
Bleeding Hearts Picture
I have never ever taken pictures that are this clear, colorful, sharp, soft, clear bookah ...
Now I know I am no pro photographer ... but ... are my cheaper lenses part of the problem? Or should I be able to take pictures that are this good with my lenses?

Don't get my wrong but I've taken some pretty good pics ... but I'm still disappointed when I don't get results like these ...

any thoughts?

Looks like you need to read up on exposure, and understanding the concept behind photography in general, the link you posted, those photos are achievable with what you got.

Proper technique (both shooting & processing).

It's hard to really know the difference that a great lens can make, until you start using them for yourself.

Read my blog, How Do I Use My Digital SLR? entry from January 6: How To Get Sharply Focused Images.

a good lens makes A HUGE difference. Get a 50mm 1.8 and see! THey are cheap! $100

id say more than useful :)

thanks Keith, been following your blog (even from work :D ) lot to learn lol

The 55-250 could easily pull of the picture your referring to. You would honestly be surpised what you can do with what you already have, take a look thru the settings on your camera these can do all kinds of things. Mess around with your aperture, and also color settings.
