What's wrong with this photo? C&C

I can't get this photo to look right...something seems off. Is it the contrast between the wall behind the head? Is it the texture of the marble? Is the photo just fundamentally flawed? I have CS2, but I can't figure out what it needs. Any help is appreciated.

There doesn't appear to be anything technically wrong with it. Although, I think what you said may be part of the problem. The low contrast between foreground and background makes the foreground less interesting.

I'd fuss with that. I think the texture of the stone is great.

I personally would add a slight gausian (spelling?) blur to the background to bring out the statue. Careful not to overdo it though.

I agree with both, and yes it is the texture of the marble and the only slight difference between the foreground and background.
