Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Some street performers in downtown Chicago Taken with a Hacked Sony point and shoot for auto bracketing . Overcooked somewhat but i think formyself it was fitting

Overcooking kinda helps with the detail within their costumes, although the background is a bit distracting

Yes the background was less that desirable but it was a street moment that I didnt want to miss

Hey, sometimes you can't control what's in a shot. You did a damn fine job with what you had...

Is this too much. I used Vivacity and decreased quite a bit, but brought just the red back about 20% so it didnt look quite so faded. The statue people are untouched.

Actually, coming to think of it, I feel Bynx is having a point here - the busy background gets a little less busy if such signalling colours as the bright red sign in the shop window get muted a little. In street photography as such you have no control over what's in the background, if it's the scene you want to get and only have seconds to capture it. But when you apply so much work to the photo in post, you may as well make distracting things matter somewhat less by reducing their colour.

Personally, I'd probably have also cropped this some by removing what's on the very left, behind that structure in the wall.

Good point on the crop LaFoto. Id also like to add that a slight tilt correction should be done so everything looks nice and square.

Thanks to all sure a nice way to see how others view and change things around I like what everyone has pointed out , I have the Topaz Bundle but Vivacity is one I didnt get I guess I will be picking it up to today thanks for all comments

The vivacity I referred to was in Photoshop. Actually its called Vibrance.

GREAT TITLE!!!! I enjoyed seeing the photo in all its various states. Cool moment. To "me" at least, the original photo's background was not a problem, since the window is that of a Pearle Vision center (an optometrist/eyeglass chain here in the USA), and the two street performers seem to be focused in on her red eyeglasses...which were echoed by the red sign in the window...I dunno...in a way, the more desaturated background shot works less-well to "me" than the original with the vibrant background. I thought that the original background was part and parcel of the shot: I mean, they are focused in on the red eyeglasses, and they are standing in front of a Pearle Vision Center outlet...

Anyway, again, GREAT thread title! I love humor.

The original was best. The edits don't "pop" the way the original does. They were okay, but they didn't improve the image...

Great edit and crop (per Corinna's suggestion), Bynx. The image was strong to begin with, but now it's superb, IMO.

Nice work, OP!

I too liked the original. Maybe the "busy" background took away from the subjects but with the subdued background the subjects almost look like de-saturated regular people, almost no contrast anymore.

I also like my original as well but thats I posted to see what others feel and see the crop worked nice and maybe I could mask off the window and change the vibrance a bit still love all kinds of the feedback
