Where does everybody buy their lenses?

The lenses usually come from B&H or Adorama, but the prices are almost always cheaper.

Where does someone go to find Minolta lenses without resorting to ebay?

buy sony lenses. the minolta stuff has pretty much been wiped out - except for 2nd hand stuff. the other option is to go for tamron or sigma lenses.
