Where to print portraits?

I recently did a senior photo shoot for a friend, and now am looking for a place to print them. I have tried a couple of camera shops and even the local Costco, but "easy" places like these don't offer the grade of prints I am looking for. Where would I go to get professional quality prints on high-quality, thicker stock paper which would be befitting of senior portraits?

Are you in America? Over in the UK we have places like BDI and Printspace that do both digital and darkroom printing, they will do exactly what you tell them and use their judgement to correct thing sif needs be - i don't know if you have these labs abroad though, they're really amazingly personal and cheap.
