Which lens would you choose

If you could only pick from one of these for a D80, which would you pick?

I have not come across anyone who has or who have tried the 4 type of Nikon kitlens and compared them like this site. There are 4 pages for this review, and I list the first two pages here and you click the rest.

Thanks for the links. Although I had read many reviews on all three lenses, I hadn't stumbled across that one. It was great how they compared the three I was considering. It's also refreshing to see their review show I made the right choice.

...but you really should get the 17-55 2.8.

You're not serious are you? Considering the lenses I chose and the fact that I specifically mention price as a primary consideration you seriously recommend a 1000+ lens????

I did not vote, becuase none of those lenses are very fast.

You *do* have other (read BETTER) options available to you. Sigma makes the 18-50 EX DC HSM Macro. Three independant photography magazines voted the Sigma sharper, faster and gave better final results than even Nikkor's 17-55 F/2.8. Not only that, but it was 1/3rd the price AND offered a free 3:1 zoom for nothing extra.

I own this lens and it is excellent... and a FAR better choice than the Nikkor. I love it.
