which lighting setup would you recommend?

Hi I've just started getting into photography and I'm interested in doing mostly portraiture and glamour shots, I want to get a strobe lighting setup but I'm torn between which setup to get, I'm considering one of the 2, either the britek 400w monolight (http://www.skaeser.com/servlet/Detail?no=339) with a 47inch Octagon Soft box and a side reflector or this 4-point(correct term?) lighting kit which seems kinda excessive in terms of item count lol: http://www.skaeser.com/servlet/Detail?no=518

I will be using this to shoot indoors where hardly any natural light ever gets in. I'm wondering if I could get away with just the octabox setup?

Welcome to the forum.

To me, those lights look pretty cheap...and it's a little off putting that they are rated incorrectly. (W/s rather than the correct Ws (Watt Seconds).
