Which teleconverter for Nikon 70-200 VR lens

Hi

I have ordered my Nikon 70-200 VR 2.8 lens :mrgreen: (Cant wait!) but need some advice on the teleconverter to get...

Lens will be used mainly for aviation so 200 a little on the short side, would prefer the TC-17E for the extra range but dont want to sacrifice too much on image quality... Is it better to go for the TC-14E (but that only gives me 280 range?)

Any advice? Anyone using this lens with a tele converter?

I use this lens all the time with my 2x teleconverter. Contrary to popular belief, it works Great! I definitely recommend it.

In my experience, the TC14's are really very good. You can crop the image to get the angle of view you would get with a longer TC and still have a better image. Focal length isn't what you're after. Detail is what you're after.
