that is what the camera read. I haven't a clue why. It is way off. i corrected it, but then decided i like it and put it back. Shot the next room, came out fine with the same lighting. LIke a big mystery..

I assume you don't want to shoot raw. Raw is easy to correct the white balance. There is a way to correct the white balance in photoshop if you are shooting jpeg.

yeah i dont like my photos edited. Lot of reasons.
one is i usually already know what is wrong with them to a extent, and how to fix it. so the person is wasting their time unless they are specifically addressing something i dont know is wrong with one.
Another is sometimes they aren't meant to be fixed. i want it that way. I want to know what others think of it, i dont want them to fix it to suit their preference.
Another is, sometimes i dont think the person giving the advice can shoot worth a damn, so should worry about fixing their own photos and shooting technique.
Another is, often if they have a mistake, i run with them anyway. i am not that worried about that photo.
Another is, once someone messes with one of my photos, i will probably delete it. As it isn't mine now especially if i take the edits. so you just cost me a photo i may have wanted to keep, which now i have to delete.

Another is, i really just dont like people touching my chit. Whether it be my car, my camera, or my photo.
Another is, people tend to edit things to suit their personal preference. in which i dont really give a rats azz about their personal preference.
Another is, this is a internet forum. I dont know who most of these people are. I know you pretty good over some time we have posted back and forth. Most i dont know. why would i want their grubby little fingers touching my photo? What qualifications do they have?

Another is, even if they are a decent photographer. I may not be inclined to their work or work style. such as certain aspects of post processing. I go by a different rule book. How i shoot. like lew for example, i respect him as a photographer. i am contrary to his work practice in certain ways. Different mentality. if lew started cloning out things on one of my photos i would probably never post a photo on here again. Same with changing a lot of things. While it may be okay for their stuff, for whatever reasons it isn't for mine. Nothing against lew, just a example of work process and practice, and different mentalities. Could have the same issue with someone taking artistic license with one or someone more into commercial photography considering my artistic licenses errors that have to be fixed.

Another is. I am shooting 15000 photos a year. This is all i do. They arent all going to be perfect. If i ask for something the help is much appreciated. you see something about one, mention it if could use it in the future. Randomly hoping to edit one of my photos in a way i MIGHT find beneficial is pretty pointless. A comment will usually go further. Otherwise they just edited one photo in fifteen thousand, and probably one i could afford to lose and not worry about. so advice/directions are better generalized applying to multiple photos. Than concern over one photo i may post.

Thinking back. I believe that room had a skylights/glass ceiling. All i can think of for the difference. Somehow the lights and reflections through the glass ceiling combining might have tricked it?????

Cameras are pretty easy to trick. They're dumb! They need us edumacated photogs behind them!

I was able to get it looking reasonably acceptable in Aperture3.

why are you guys even editing photos that say "photos not okay to edit"??????????????????????????????????????????? And that did me no good anyway i don't have aperture 3. And i don't need help fixing the white balance. I really just thought it was a odd effect and was wondering what i missed in the scene that caused it. I don't care about fixing it. I care about not missing it again. Being more observant and in tune. Understanding why it went off in that situation.
