Who has two thumbs and front row seats to the last Discovery launch?

Bringing the Digital Rebel, Nikkormat with Kodachrome, Minolta with some sort of film (probably Ektar 100) tripod the whole works.

This is the photo-op of a lifetime and it just happens to be in my backyard, I am actually blowing off a job interview to make this. **** working I'm going to go record history.

When I read this title I thought man I hope you aren't paying to go see the launch. I live in Indiana and have been lucky enough to see 5 shuttle launches in my life. I have never traveled down to see one it just happened that a lot of the times that I have been vacationing in Florida there would be a shuttle launch and we went to see it. The best one I saw was when I was a teen ager and we were out on a fishing boat about 20 miles off the coast near Daytona. It was awesome to see the shuttle going up that way. The last one i saw was 2 summers ago (might have been 3) I was in Orlando and we drove over and got within about 5 miles of the pad. It is definitely something to see.

I have done ONE 3 min exposure of a rocket launch at night and it came out pretty bad. I'm not looking forward to this one much.

I've been trying to get tickets from a friend at NASA for years now, but whenever he has something for me, I can't get down to FL. I need to see a shuttle (or its relacement!) launch at some point in my life...
