Just wondering.... sort of taking a survey..

when a photo contest starts up, do you:
  1. go out and look for photo opportunities
  2. sift through photos you already have, to find one that applies
I have submitted 2 entries since I have been a member. The first one, for the serenity challenge, I found on my computer and sent in. .....[skipped the bad photo challenge]..... The second one (for the In the Neighborhood challenge, I kept my mind and eyes open all month long, looking for that perfect shot. In my opinion, I got one. (not telling you what it is of course). All in all, I certainly had more fun being constantly looking for photo opportunities that matched the theme. Not to mention, it really helped me with composition...even when I wasn't taking pictures, I was setting up the shot (different angles and all) in my mind. Super fun.

I am not saying one way is wrong, and one is right.

What do you guys usually find yourself doing?

When I do submit, I'll go and shoot. I find it to be much more fun and much
more interesting to do it that way. It does help with seeing things everyday.

I have skipped the last two for lack of interest, but I am ready to get back into
the swing of things. I am ready to go and shoot again!

I've only entered once but I did go out and shoot.

I always go shoot. I didn't enter this month because I wasn't happy with anything that I had taken in the theme.
