This evening i wanted to take a video of the moon. So i wanted to zoom in, it was all good but when i started to record it zoomed out.
Is it maybe because of the lens? I use EFS 18-55mm. thank you!

The zoom ring on the lens is completely manual...the camera can not zoom the lens, only you can do that.

I'm guessing that you are talking about the live view on the LCD. You can zoom in (usually to check focus) but that isn't actually the same as zooming the lens. So when you start to record video, the screen shows you the whole scene that it is recording...so it seems to you that it's zooming out.

Oh Thank You! that is actually what i was wondering!
Speaking of lens, which lens would be best at taking photos of objects which are far away (like moon) AND close up (like flowers)?

Good Moon photos are made with long focal length lenses. Long meaning 600 mm or more.

Most high quality moon images are made using a camera attached to a telescope.
