why did i get banned this time?

lol.... this is Chris Burke?....

dude you deserved your bannings... now take it like a champ....

you can teach the mods a lesson by joining another forum... no doubt after time they will be searching you out after they realize how devoid the forum is of hot air.....

+1 My thoughts exactly. As soon as I saw it was Chris Burke, I said to myself. Oh yea, that guy. He used to bug the crap out of me with his bs running around acting like a super-pro.

This might be one of the reasons. I had no problem with what you posted, I realize people are offensive on the internet.

I have a question.

Since the word banned has yet to appear under whydidigetbanned, does that mean he's still allowed here? Will he return under yet another alias? Just curious. It took a long time after he said "I'm done with this forum" before his little green light went out

Good point, the mods must be toying with him like a cat and mouse.

Some moderation software lets you ban based on an email address, but it's still not too hard to keep making bogus hotmail addresses and come back in. If that's what he's doing, eventually the sock-puppet will tire of making new email addys and move on.
Kind of funny to have someone say that they hate a certain forum, but keep showing up under new accounts. Kind of nullifies their assertion that they hate the place.

I feel like Chris often unleashes the frustration he feels towards whatever may be going on in his day-to-day life upon the forums. He is a youth pastor after all, so he is not in a position where he can be short and rude to people in his career, and therefore we on the internet get to enjoy pushy, rude, know-it-all posts. I wonder how his employers would react if he called one of his real-life kids a punk-ass.

it might also be that only admin can make a full ban so the mods are waiting.
Also whilst email bans are typical and can be got round the IP address ban generally kills most people off - though it does run the risk of hitting others as well since IPs are not totally unique (At least as far as I have worked out)

This thread is one of the only reasons Im still at TPF. What a riot.:lol::lol:

He's a youth pastor?!!!! Wow! Perhaps he is the same with his job then too ... perhaps thats where the attitude comes from in the first place; maybe he has to counsel the kids with a drill sargent\tough love appraoch and its just become second nature. But then again ---

Basically, you can ban an account, but you cannot ban a person. At least our technology is not able to.

Did Chris offended me in the past, yes he did. Did I personally still want him stay in this forum? Sure, why not. But of course it will be nice if his tone change a little when offer his opinion. Especially on the internet. We can only see the text without emotion attach to it. (well the smiley icons sometimes help)

IP ban ? Cool. But I wonder how that works if a person's network provider ( like mine ) provides dynamic IP ? Every time DHCP refreshes my pc gets a new IP address.
