Why I need an iphone

I am eligible for an upgrade and I really want to get the iphone 4. What would be the advantages of the iphone when running a successful photography business? What apps do you like/use all the time? Tell me what you love about yours!

I use square to swipe credit cards on my iphone (no startup cost).

Seriously though I couldn't live without my iPhone. It can do 80% of the things my computer can do...on the go!

I use SquareUp as well. A few months now. Love it. Nobody has questioned the security of it yet, or had any qualms of signing on an iPad, or iPhone.

I am sure there will be someone who will. They can walk to the bank.

Intuit as also gotten into this and offer very slightly cheaper rates, but I haven't read their fine print, soooo...

ok i just got a square account and i have a question. its ready to accept payments and i didnt give it an account or whatever. Where does the $$ charged get sent to? the card you have on file with your itunes acc?

You need to set up your account through SquareUp.com.
They will send you a card reader, within a week or two.
You have to attach an account for them to deposit to.
They will make two small deposits, and then withdraw the same ammounts, and you have to verify this info.
Then you are good to go.

Yes, I have heard of the Square app, but isn't there a fee you have to pay? I would love to know the contract and model release apps too. This is one of the reasons I want an iphone, so clients can sign a model release with it and eliminate the need for a pen and paper.

I am working weekend shift with a professional photographer, and she keeps me updated on current events. So I know where my assignment is, and how to get there. I had an Iphone, but it keeps dropping calls. Now I am using a Blackberry, and it’s great.

There is always fees for using credit cards. ALWAYS.
SquareUp has a flat % per transaction. It's higher than non mobile POS terminal services, but they get you in other ways such as $35-$40 monthly fees, and penalty fees for not hitting minimum charges, SquareUp doesn't.. Do your research, read SquareUp's ToS.

I knew it was a percentage, I will have to read into it a little more. I am also not thrilled about providing my SSN. Still wondering about those release form apps? Does the Blackberry have apps that are similar?

Ezrelease that lets the model sign it on your iphone delivers a copy to your email and theirs. Wishes BB had this.
