Wide angle/fisheye converters

I'm seeing some cheap wide/angle fisheye converters online and I'm wondering if they're worth bothering with for my D90. If so, which one should I get? My understanding is that they just screw on the lens like filters in which case they could probably be used with step down/up rings. Please advise.

Stay away from those things, they're all gimmick. You're better off spending that money on an old wide angle or fish eye lens off of ebay.

Don't waste your money, unless you like lots of flare, CA, poor color & contrast, ghosts, etc.

Put whatever it was going to cost you into a real fisheye lens.
