I'd like to widen the angle of view captured by a smart phone camera. Wide enough to capture most of a room from a corner.
Would it at all be possible to put some simple lens infront of the built-in camera lens in order to achieve this? Would it suffice to have a piece of glass cut out for the purpose? Are their maybe even standard lenses available (like, for binoculars) which would be suitable for use in this way?
As you notice, I know very little about optics.
