Will the bulb explodes?

I have Flashpoint 150ws, and I order another Flashpoint 600ws. I noticed both bulbs in these Flashpoints have different watts. If I accidentally switch bulbs in wrong Flashpoints, one bulb can not handle enough power for Flashpoint 600ws, will this bulb burned out or in worse case, explode?

In ordinary incandescent lighting systems (tungsten/halogen lights) the 150W bulb would be fine in the 600W unit simply drawing less current than the light is designed to handle. The 600W bulb in a 150W unit would draw 4 times the current the units designed for. This might simply blow a fuse, but it could also cause the light to overheat and possibly catch fire.

Flash lights usually have large capacitors, that dump all their energy into the bulb in one go so things could be quite different.

Either way I wouldn't switch bulbs, unless you can turn it on remotely & let us know the results!

First, are you talking about the modelling light or the flash tube? If you put the lower-rated modelling light in the higher rated light unit, it might be fine, or it might simply burn out. If you put the lower rated flash tube in the higher-output unit, while I doubt it would explode, assuming you had the flash power at or near 100% I'm pretty sure you would only get one flash (but it would be bright and loud).

I doubt it. I think the most that will happen is that the power supply of the 150ws unit will not power the 600ws bulb to its highest level. If the engineers have designed the 150ws power supply correctly, then you will get only 150ws of light out of the incorrectly-placed flash tube.

If you put the 150 flashtube in the 600ws unit, it might burn out faster, but I seriously doubt if anything violent will happen. Probably it will just not last as long as it might have otherwise.

In short; nothing will blow up or fry.

At any rate, you should mark the packages that the bulbs come in to avoid making that mistake.
