Anybody have one? I'm talking the not quite a fridge because it has no compressor, but thermoelectrically keeps the vino at about 55 degrees? I'm thinking something in the 20-30 bottle capacity would work out awesomely and I've seen them from a couple hundred to the moon. Any thoughts/comments/criticisms/experiences/suggestions of brands or vendors? LWW
After some research, we settled on Danby. They have a good reputation and we bought the Silhouette model (which is now discontinued, I believe) - it has a 75 bottle capacity, and it has a small compressor for that size. There has been a bit of bad press about Danby's smaller units, like the one you are describing - so investigate further if you opt for one of them. Wine forums are great places to lurk for stuff like that. We got a floor model for about 60% off price and it has been completely trouble-free. Now, Danby is one of the low-end lines, generally speaking - people seem to be high on Transtherm, Vinoteque (? sp) and Eurocave. Google those names and you'll probably get way more info than you wanted. salut! <clink>
