Six is uber good though the sand in the backround is a little distracting,I cant figure out why though.

Yeah #6 is superb, but I see what chris82 is talking about. I think it is because of the light and dark parts of the sand with the gull right in line with the transition. Would have been perfect if the sand was all dark, because the lighter coloured bird would have "popped" out even more. Still a great capture though.

Danad: yes, lucky I escaped Especially since I had no tele lens on my camera while shooting. And it is not a crop of a larger image
But to be honest, the situation was by far less dangerous than it seems

Chris & Surfingfireman: Yes, I know about that, but there was not time to think about composition at that moment. I just walked at the beach and that fellow just happened to cross my path, I pulled up my cam and caught him ... just a snapshot after all

maybe the background could be darkened in PS or something. maybe I will try. BTW, it is a crop from a larger image to be honest.

Hey now, I DO like the second one of this series (numbered as No 6) even though the wings get in line with the surf, or maybe BECAUSE they do so? :scratch: Whatever: I like that one and the one that is #8 here. Wonderful sky in that one!
