Woke up cold and alone
Went outside, low and behold:

The sky is beautiful, the foreground is kind of boring. It leaves me looking at that box and wondering why it's there. Why is it there anyways? lol

Ehhh... I kind of like that. A good photo is one that makes you think. I look at this and think, "Why is that box there?"

Ah, the wonders of ice fishing...why do we make our frozen lakes look like shantytowns? That's what we do when it freezes and we want to fish; we set up small shacks on the lake, cut a hole in the ice and fish away.

Nice shot...IMO it captures the isolation and beauty of winter in the same frame.

the box?? --> I figured it was for phone equipment

I'm trying to find the point of focus on the shot, looks soft and oof all the way through. Sky is colored nicely though.

*How does one shoot an aperture of f/0.0 LOL, data must have been lost in translation :D*

Aperture: f/0.0
Exposure Time: 0.0004 s (1/2500)
ISO equiv: 100
Exposure Bias: none
Metering Mode: Matrix

It was freezing out, probably fogged the lens with my breath accidentally....

That would be a great spot for a telephone box, in the middle of a lake....

Hey...I've heard some pretty wild stories about those ice houses!...phones, tv, etc., etc.

Satellite tv, stoves, almost like a home, some even have bathrooms (aka hole in the ice) which makes me wonder about people who eat the fish they catch out of the next hole over...

:puke:

this photo has a lot of potential. i would increase the exposure, but be sure to keep that beautiful sky in mind! maybe play around with the colors in the sky too

My reasoning for including the box was to add a sense of distance (and loneliness). I wanted something on the other side of the frame from the sun with as little in the middle as possible to achieve that lonely, cold feeling.

Great sky! Foreground is a little dark and boring though. Overall well captured sky and great use of RoT
