Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I'd be interested in seeing it in color as well. That looks like an amazing place to shoot. Is it some place you can go back to? I'd be interested to see a long exposure on that waterfall as well as this shot.

Here are a couple more to break the ice:

Oh, and since it was asked for, here is the unedited version of the first picture:

The colors came out really nice on 2 and 3. And i'd go with winter wonderland, it was 80 today here in texas.

I'm moving to San Diego in a couple of weeks, so I'll be out of my little frozen hell here in Upstate NY.

That is a super neat picture, I like the color version better, it's more lively, even though that's likely not what you were aiming for. Winter shots are sick, I love shooting in the barren white and cold. The lighting is harder to work with in locations like yours was shot in, and it's harder to keep a shivering hand steady. Good work!

It was -10F when I took this picture, wearing khakis, skate shoes, and an insulated flannel. I didn't have my tripod with me, so my hands were trembling, which explains the fuzziness of the rocks. BRRR!!

I broke down and got some of those fingerless hobo gloves. Yeah, you look like a bum, but they are awesome!

I've also spent a small fortune on those 1 time use hand warmers, so any time I'm not shooting, I keep my hands in my pockets.

I was driving home from the mountains, and I saw this spot to pull off in the canyon and parked it, jumped out, slid down the embankment, and started taking shots. Muttering the F word the whole time.

I should cut the fingers off of a pair of Burton spring gloves I never wear anymore and flap-sew the cuts, that's a good idea.

Supposed to be 2F in Denver on Wednesday, maybe I'll test them out then...

Haha yeah, I was gloveless for that waterfall shot. Matter of fact, I think it was after that day that I ended up buying the gloves.

I also found out that if you're in negative numbers long enough, the camera doesn't like it either and starts getting finicky.

Nice picture, but I don't like the original edit. Lots of nice tones were obliterated. Here's my take:

Yeah, I dressed appropriately for this shot, it was -8F in Denver that night. My autofocus went inside for hot cocoa after about 75 shots.

I like this with the exception of the blown out parts immediately surrounding the fall. You're right though, the edit I did could use a little less harsh contrast.

Alright, I put it back under the knife:
