Hi John- CS3, but I assume it has the same tool as CS4.

I -did- go a bit darker on the b/w one... I thought the bright light with the black outlying areas would drag the eye in radially towards the light, which I thought was neat. I may have overdone it, however, as yes... some of the texture is clearly lost.

I'm not sure. I'll probably come back to it in a couple weeks with a fresh perspective and eyeball it again.
