Would someone be kind enough to critique this photo?

I'd think about the time of day and how the sun is hitting, midday brightness often isn't the best option (so the shoulders and top of the hat aren't white instead of blue). Otherwise it might be a little tight, could have been better with all of his left arm in the frame, and when there's a geometric pattern like a fence it can be more noticeable if it isn't completely straight. You filled the frame nicely with him and the fence as background, it seems spaced nicely.

You exposed for his face well enough, but the problem is that he's in seriously harsh light. It was a good instinct to put that light behind him, but it's still too hard to shoot in. Shade or finding a way to diffuse it (or waiting until later when the light wasn't as harsh) would have made it better.

I'm also not a fan of the crop. You've already got so much of his body in the image, you might as well have pulled back a little bit to avoid cutting off his elbow.

I do like how the fence leads into him though. :sillysmi:

The pose is pretty good, and you've got good light on his face, but the strong light surrounding him detracts from the overall success. And why did you crop his arm?
