This past summer I decided that I missed both film and medium format work, so I hunted around Craig's List for a bit and found a nice Mamiya AFD kit for a reasonable price. I finally got around to processing the first few test-rolls I had run through it. I picked them up on the way home, had a quick glance at the contact sheets and then dug out my old loupe and (literally) blew the dust off of the light table and started going through the negatives and checking them against my test notes. You know what? That was fun! I miss film; don't get me wrong, I love the fact that digital gives me instant satisfaction, and that my computer doesn't smell like Dektol, BUT there's something so darn peaceful about film, especially when it was done slowly. I think I'm going to be putting a lot more film through this old beast!
