well there is goon be a difference between a 10 and 16mm on your dx.

and i second the rokinon 8mm fish. its half the price of the nikon, and takes great images. but you ave to shoot in manual as it doesn't meter on the camera.

Then do your homework. "Fisheye" ≠ "Fisheye", meaning not all fisheyes are the same. The 16mm is an FX format FE, while the 10.5 is a DX lens.

A 16mm FE on a DX camera will simply be a wide-angle with all the distortion of a fisheye. It will provide you with a 107° field of view, not the 180° you think you'll get....... and the further all the nice straight lines are from the center of the frame will be rendered curves in the image. OTOH, the Nikkor 10-24 will provide you with a 109° FOV with nice straight lines.

If price is a major player in your decision, check out the Rokinon (sold under the Vivitar [7mm for some reason], Samyang, Bower and other brand names). I've read some good reviews about it, but I went with the Nikkor 10.5mm simply because of size, weight, and max. aperture.

i have both the rokinon 8mm 3.5f and the sigma 15mm 2,8f with autofocus

i use the rokinon 8mm a lot more than the sigma 15mm! the autofocus seems like such a waste of a feature on the sigma... it never knows what to focus on... those are the 2 that i have experience with...
