Yashica Electro 35 GS POD repair?

Hi guys, I just picked up a Yashica Electro 35 GS with a sticking shutter, which is probably an indicator that the POD is bad, so I have some ideas on what I will use to replace the POD, but I could use some recommendations on a type of glue that would be good for this application. Thanks for any assistance provided.

Hope it was free. None of these cheapo rangefinders aged well and aren't easily or cheaply repaired now.
