I think I just might have liked it framed a little lower, to see a little more foreground and to emphasize the roots and minimize the trunks seeming a little chopped off.
This subject could be done a number of ways I think, some great subject matter here. I probably would have played around a little with different compositions, but this is pretty interesting as is.
Looking at it again, I might just crop the top some, to bring the viewer a little more into seeing the roots. Sometimes if I crop the top or bottom edge of a photo I often crop one side or the other too (or both sides slightly) to keep the same proportion as the original. Depends on the photo, I might make copies and try more than one crop and see what looks best.
