My friend got me this for chanukah...it's awesome...my mom and I were crying when we were reading it (she speaks Yiddish).

you have no idea...seriously, my mom and I were totally cracking up.

Also, the Girl got me Born to Kvetch for Chanukah...another very funny book. He basically takes Yiddish expressions, gives the etomology (SP), history, literal and idiomatic translations. It's very funny, and gives a good insight into why Eastern European Jews are so sarcastic, self-deprecating, and generally funny people.
