young Cooper's hawk drying off

    saw this juvenile Cooper's hawk sitting atop a dead tree... it looked like it had gotten wet - perhaps didn't pull up fast enough while diving after prey on the water, or maybe had just taken a bath - and was attempting to dry itself off.

    thanks, Carlos! i was probably about 50 yards from the tree, and the bird was about 40 feet up... this is cropped pretty significantly.
