What is the average number of photos you take per session?

Out of those how many are you proud of?

How many do you like but wouldn't put on a personal website?

How many do you find acceptable?

How many do you throw out?

Are you a pro or an amateur or a hobbyist?

-----------

Average 250-500 a session (meaning each time I have my camera out to take pics)

Proud of: 5-10

Acceptable: 20

Dislike: the rest lol

Amateur turning hobbyist

Please respond!

That depends on what I am shooting! It varies every time but I usually like and use about %75 of them.

Are you a professional? Sorry, I do not know your 'status' but I think I have seen photos you have shared of your sister? Right, the gorgeous girl?

Also, did you always like that many or with practice you slowly increased your 'like' pile?

Haha yes those were pictures of my sister :) I charge for photos, I don't know if that makes me a pro or not but I still learn new things almost everyday so I would probably say no? I never used to get that many because I didn't really take the time to set up the shot, I always felt rushed but now I make sure everything is perfect before I shoot. I've gotten pretty good a PP too so that helps lol!

But then again I don't take that may pictures! Unless it's a wedding then all of what I said goes out the window...

I don't have numbers, but I may like 50%. Of that I may keep 50%. Of that I may edit 20%. Of that I may take process 10%. Of that I may show 1%. I'm fairly critical.

How many I shoot at once varies wildly and depends a lot on what I'm shooting...

Generally, I find that my quality is inversely proportional to my quantity.

(The more I shoot, the worse they are.)

If I can get a 20% keeper ratio I feel damn good about it, I am also very critical of my work.

Seriously.....don't worry about how many pictures other people are taking. Worry about the end result. People are going to vary very differently on how they shoot. Some people are going to be shutter happy and others will be more selective. Are YOU getting the result you want in the time frame YOU want? :sexywink: Set a goal for yourself!!

It's just a question. .. you know, people here really don't HAVE to think that every time someone has a question about other people that it means we aren't worried about ourselves and while I appreciate what you're trying to get across to me it's nothing I need to be told. It's simply a thread because I have an interest in knowing the answer and I'm sure others do too, it doesn't mean I don't focus on my own photography.

I enjoy reading about other people and their experiences with photography. While I am busy editing my photos it is fun to check back here and see what people have to say. It's nothing more than that and I think it's really sad that people can't just have a fun thread and give answers without others assuming the worst. I am very involved in my own photos and do have my own goals, that doesn't mean I don't want to know about others. Thank you regardless for your advice, but please don't assume just because I'm curious about this and so many other things regarding people and their photos that I'm not focused on my own.

I have yet to take a picture that I'm really proud of. (may or may not be a true statement.)

I show the others here to get ideas on how to make the next ones better.

I will get there eventually.

Perpetually amateur.

Out of all the photos I have taken, I have not had one that is amazing to me.

Because if I think my photos are amazing, then I'll become bored with my photography.

By believing my photos are crap, I'll strive harder and harder to make them better.

So far, my belief is working.

Other people love my photos, but I can't stand them.

Does that make sense to anyone?
