I don't think the difference warrants that what it will cost you to change.

To tell you the truth, I can never see myself shooting Canon unless absolutly nessasary. I do not enjoy using canon SLR's in comparison to my Nikon's and there is just too much about Canon cameras that I don't like. Take their viewfinders for example. Unless you're in broad daylight, you can't see the AF points. On a Nikon, the AF points are huge and whichever one is selected is bold.

I've made money off people like you.....

I have connections with a few camera shops... some are good at convincing Nikonians to trade in for Canon and some are good at convincing Canonites to trade in for Nikon. I walk in and clear out all the traded in equipment in bulk and for a good price... then resell them in various venues individually.

Each and everytime.. it is clearly not worth the loss of investment and cost to move from one system to the other. Both Nikon and Canon make excellent product lines capable of wonderful pictures. If there is any real practical differences, its in the professional lines of equipment and even then... professionals don't even notice.

Personally, I would not do it. It seems to me that you are going to get the same results with the Nikon. But then I drive a 20 year old car and still use film. I tend to look at things as " If it ain't broke don't fix it ". Save some money and buy fast prime glass.

The problem is that you have emotion fighting a war with practicality. There is no practical or objective reason to make the switch and a lot of reasons not to. Emotion, however....................

I love Canon and use one.But after all the money you have paid to set up with Nikon gear it would be ridiculous to change...I could not see any advantage the would be detectable by the human eye.. And that is the acid test... use your Nikon with impunity..

With all the tricks you can do in post processing the camera are going to have to get a LOT better to warrent changing from any Pro level body. And even then, Where is the advancement in printing? Can you really tell any difference at the top end? Ok, maybe from 12 to 16 mpxls but from 10 to 12? From 16 to 20?

I shoot canon and would tell you not to switch... honestly people are relying on more and more of the camera and less and less of the basics...

With that within a few months of the 1D MIII coming out I will be placing my order...LOL

But instead of selling my 1D MII I think I will keep it as a backup sports camera....
