I didn't put much thought into this it just sort of happened. My cousin got a new bow and arrow toy, I thought it looked quite artsy.

That's a great pose for a spontaneous and unplanned shot.

I like the degree of background blur -- great DoF as he is beautifully sharp, we can clearly make out the background but it all focuses on him.

I love your placement of him in the lower right corner shooting into the frame. I might have even lowered the camera height a bit more.

Well-done. Yes, an interesting subject. I agree with everything Tim said above, although I think if the camera were lowered much more, that the background behind the bow and boy would become the bare sky, and the bowstring would blend in with the sky, and ruin the wonderful effect. Also, the large expanse of manicured lawn behind, and the tree line--all wonderful elements, rendered nicely in the out of focus zone...a lower camera angle would eliminate those things, and would change the photo quite a bit. This is a neat snap. So,so simple.

Ay oop, lad, tha's done reet gradely!

I like the positioning, too. You could just about draw a line from the top left to the bottom right corner and say "This is where the arrow goes." Was that deliberate or a happy accident?
